Celebrity chef Lesley Waters led 80 people from across the county in a mass cook-along at Dorchester Corn Exchange to promote simple healthy cooking.
The Friendly Food Club (FFC) was funded by Dorset Council to host the event, which included community groups, families, and carers and people from local charities including The Bus Shelter in Weymouth.
Lesley Waters, who has appeared on BBC Ready Steady Cook and ITV’s This Morning, was joined by fellow chefs Nicholas Balfe, (BBC’s Great British Menu & co-owner of Holm restaurant in Somerset) and Steve Yates, Head Chef of the Kings Arms in Dorchester.
Lesley said: “The event was hands-on, collaborative, and immensely fun. Everyone was so engaged and passionate and together we produced some amazing food.”
Angie Lambert co owner of stABILITY, a day provision for young adults with special needs in Weymouth said: “It has been an absolutely wonderful day and the chefs were amazing. We bought a large group of our members with all different levels of ability, and they have all got stuck in.”
